Cadenza is led by Artistic Director Laura Anderson with support and guidance from the steering group made of company members.

Cadenza was formed out of a need to keep people moving and connected in light of Covid-19. We began in 2021 and we are just at the beginning of a new journey.

Cadenza is an independent, participant led dance company for people over the age of 50. It provides high quality technique classes, workshops and performances, as well as opportunities to connect with choreographers and dance artists across the UK.

Cadenza receives funding from Arts Council England, Norfolk County Council and support from Norwich Theatre.

About Laura Anderson

Laura is an experienced dance artist who enjoys creating, playing and experimenting with performers from many disciplines. She has worked as a performer, teacher and choreographer for over 20 years. She works in a variety of settings with the aim of creating meaningful interactions through dance. In 2014 she won the Norfolk Arts Award for Dance. She has led dance activity for older adults for over 15 years.

She is Director of Glass House Dance, which she formed with Co-Director Sarah Lewis in 2013. The company specialises in making work for unexpected places. She has a long history of creating work in outdoor settings and is passionate about dance being seen and engaging audiences outside of the traditional theatre environments.

In whatever environment she is working in, her mission is to dig in to the essence of what moves people – emotionally, physically or ideally both.
